JOOL. OFFICE
With reference to your official letter of the
27th December, on the subject of the Hong Kong piracy
case of Rex v.Chung Tam Kwong", I have written to Hancock
at the Admiralty, and enclose a copy of the letter.
Your official letter of the 25th October, to the
Treasury, pointed out the inconveniences and dangers
involved in leaving the matter as decided by the Hong
Kong Court, and we assume that you are still very anxious
to get the question at issue referred to the Judicial
Committee of the Privy Council.
If this is so, and if
the Admiralty share our view, we hope the Treasury will
reconsider the decision in their letter of the 31st October.
Perhaps you would kindly let me know if our assumption is
correct.
H. R. Cowell, Esq., C.M.G.
Yours sincerely,
Ke
